writers see you, and beat the fuck out of your clueless suburban asses and steal your car, but you hold hands when you are in the ambulance, and collaborate on a cover story to tell your parents...

The other day I was asked what religion I affiliate myself with, and although I follow many Buddhist beliefs, I said that I'm a raver...this is why: Raving is like a religion in itself.When I'm on the dance floor or helping the misguided kids that
have done too many drugs, or just talking to people, I am at peace. I feel no need to down anyone, or to be rude. It is the ultimate
religious experience. I'm not saying that it should be catagorized as an organized religion, but it should be held as a spiritual one. The music takes you to a higher level.When you can confuse the bass lines with your heartbeat, and you're dancing because you just can't stop, it is the most beautiful
feeling in the world. When I'm sitting on the floor talking to people,and I hear a certain bassbeat, it can catch me, and I just have to move to
it.It's almost like the music is calling me to dance.The unity that I feel with everyone when I'm at a party is incredible. I know that I can go up to anyone and talk to them, and I'll
probably make a friend. This is the unity that everyone should feel.Maybe it's an unrealistic goal, but this is what the world should see.
When you open your mind, with or without drugs, you can see that many things that people get angry about, or are scared of are trivial in the big picture. Yes, there are things that are scary and can make you angry, but in the scene, the only things that matter are you, the music,your friends, and happiness.Without these, we are not a culture, we are only kids who want to get out of the house every once in awhile.Religion is seen as something to believe in.I believe in the rave scene; I believe in our culture; I believe in our ability to come together as one generation to change our world. Some of you may say that I am unrealistic, and that we can't change the world, but I believe that we can if we try.If every raver showed the world our general value of peace, love,unity and respect, it can make a difference.
